The learning environment at Autumn Hill Academy is designed to enable an effective and engaging educational experience through student centered and competency-based learning by combining a uniquely inclusive culture, extensive social/emotional wellness programming and rigorous academics. 

Our curriculum will provide engaging lessons that combine direct instruction with student research and group discussion, developing critical thinking skills and creative problem solving. Students may choose from a variety of options to show they have a deep understanding of the material. Skills acquired through the curriculum and presentations will prepare students for college and career beyond Autumn Hill as lifelong learners and active members of the community. 

Student agency is paramount. Students will monitor their own progress through guided daily reflection, providing weekly updates to parents and teachers while problem solving solutions to overcome any barriers. Every student will have a mentor teacher who will follow them throughout middle or high school in order to build relationships that foster growth and understanding. 

A genius hour built into the schedule will give students the opportunity to propose and pursue unique learning opportunities that meet their passion and interests with the full support of our teaching staff. These may include specific areas of interest that are not included in the curriculum, deep dives into something that sparked curiosity, and even internship opportunities with businesses in the area.
